Hello Friends,
Waiting for there to be enough light to take a picture… in the meantime, I can tell you that we do have a little swell around. Not too many folks in the water at Dee Why, where there are some waist to chest high things coming into the point, and chest to head high sets along the beach. Wind is not much of a factor, but the surface is a bit choppy and lumpy looking, so the quality setting is not too impressive.
The buoy is showing 2 metres at 10 sec from the SE for Sydney. It went a bit bigger down the coast from us in, but all those reports show a steady decline. My guess is that we should have surfable size at SE exposed spots all day today.
We’re set for light NE winds of 10-15kts today and although it’ll be cloudy off and on, it doesn’t look as though we’ll have much, if any, in the way of precipitation.
Pics up as soon as there is enough light…

Clouding up this morning but there was a pretty sunrise to get things started. There are some little waves around as well, but they look little different than yesterday’s offerings. Indeed, according to the MHL data, we’re looking at the much the same settings, ie a touch under 2 metres at 9 seconds from the south. Right now the winds are light and out of the SW.
The Bureau’s forecast says those southwest winds will swing SE this morning, get up to 18-23 kts and then fade back to 10-15kts from the E-SE by dusk. They also reckon that the swell will push up this morning and get into the 2.5 - 3 metre range.
As of the latest set of readings from the MHL buoy, I can’t see any pulse showing on the Pt Kembla or Batemans Bay buoys. Eden started bumping up around midnight as its average period went from 9 to 11 seconds. All things being equal, that should mean we get a few forerunner this morning and then the bulk of the pulse arriving mid afternoon (after the wind’s gone SE of course).
Showers are set to develop this morning, so looks to me as though you’ll need to be pretty keen…
Have yourself a top old day!
