Saturday 21 April & small…again.

Published by at 7:17 am under Surf reports

Hello Friends,

Impressive sunrise this morning in Sydney. Somewhat less impressive swell however. Average size around our region is knee to waist high at spots with exposure to the south. So, it’s very small, but not totally flat. There’s no wind about to start with, so while it’s weak and little, at least it’s beautifully glassy.

Wind is due to come up later and be out of the SW to SE at 10-15 kts. Swell at sea off Sydney is south at 1-2 metres, but the period is a gutless 7 seconds.

There aren’t too many hopeful signs in the runes for tomorrow either, but I do note with interest that there are peak periods of 12 sec showing on the Eden buoy. It’s been like that since about midnight, so if those long period swells are headed our way, they should start to show up as very occasional chest high sets at south exposed spots from late this morning. .

Outlook for tomorrow is for similar conditions to prevail tomorrow and Monday, but toward the middle of the week there could be some messy, head high stuff lighting up SE exposed spots.

Go well with your day!
