Monday the 11 of June 2007 was just one of those special days in Sydney. It was a holiday, the weather was beautiful, but best of all, we had a fun size SE swell. I’ve always wanted to see if I could shoot a little bit of video at every one of the northern beaches in a single day…

As it turns out, I did manage to get from Palm Beach to Manly (the light was just about gone at the Bower) and to shoot a little something at every place I saw people in the water (the only possible exception was the tip of Long Reef).

Herewith the first installment of my little effort. Music is by Dave Kowalski, while video shooting and “editing” is by moi. For those curious about such things, all the surfing and beach panoramas were shot with a 3 megapixel Canon PowerShot S1 IS in its 640×480 x 30 fps video mode. The shots from the car were made with a Nokia N95 which also captures video at the same resolution as the Canon. The edit, as usual, was pulled together with Apple’s QuickTime Pro.

Stay tuned for more installments and in the meantime… Enjoy!
