Hello Friends,

Breezy and beautiful this morning in Sydney. But the surf? Oh, that… ummm… got anything on this weekend? See, the thing is, when the SW change came through last night, the average period went from around 8 seconds to just 5. Combine that with a bare metre of SSW swell and you have a perfect flatness recipe.

There’s no obvious prospect for surf in our region today. If you were to head way down south to the Vic border, there might be something into the waist high range. Unfortunately, the Merimbula forecast calls for even more wind than the 15-20 kts of W-SW we’re due to get here in Sydney.

The long range outlook is for these westerly winds to continue through the coming week. But there doesn’t seem to be much hope for anything surfable along most of the east coast until Thursday, when it looks as though there could be a bit of south swell action (although Sydney may be a bit light on).

Ah, spring… the sooner we’re done with it, the better!

Never mind, enjoy your day, go well and stay happy!
