Paddling the boat about the only action prospect at Dee Why this morning.

Hello Friends,

We’re in for a warm and windy one today in Sydney. By early this afternoon, the Bureau says the NW will be pushing along at 20-30 kts. A south change of similar strength is due through toward dark. The swell situation is not good. At the moment, the average period is bumping around the 7 second mark and the size out at sea is averaging about a metre from the SSE.

At Dee Why, that means pretty close to flat and I’m confident it won’t be appreciably better anywhere else. The biggest sets at SE exposed spots are going to struggle to get into the waist high range. There is some 13 second stuff showing though, so it could be that every now and then you’ll see something around shoulder high.

Outlook is for much more of the same. In fact, the models are saying that the entire east coast will only have short period and small waves across the coming week.  boo.

Oh well, haul out the mal or the fish and I’m sure you’ll jag something amusing!
