Little waves about this morning.

Published by at 7:48 am under Surf reports

Hello Friends,

Skies seem to be clearing up as I start to tap these words out. We had a few drops of rain up here on the hills back of Long Reef, but not much. As foretold by the models, there was a longer period pulse through our stretch of coast around midnight. The average period briefly touched ll seconds, but its back to around 9 sec now. Windswell out at sea is around a metre with some 2 metre peaks in amongst it. It’s coming from the SSE, so there should be a few marginal surf opportunities around the Sydney region this morning. A 0740 high tide should mean that conditions will improve a touch at most places. Wind is due to be out of the NE and 15-20 kts by this afternoon.

My take on the weekend is that we’re going to have less tomorrow and less again Sunday in Sydney. If you want some size (and a fair bit of wind), it looks like early next week will be pretty nutty from western SA to western Vic and lots of Tas.

Hope you have a top old day!
