Weak still, but not utterly flat

Hello Friends,

Looks like a metre of 8 sec period east windswell all up and down the east coast this morning. That’s nice because whatever you find, you’ll know it’s not much better or worse between where you are and Eden or Noosa. There were a reasonable number of early risers flopping around along the beach north from the SLSC at Dee Why. It’s not the first place I’d be looking for a wave this morning. Just doesn’t seem to much like dead east, does Dee Why.

The wind settings for today are light and variable early, tending around to the NE at 13-18 kts as the day goes along. It’s expected to cloud up and there’s a chance of a light shower later on.

Over the weekend it looks from the models as though there might be some slight energy improvement in our region, but nothing too impressive. Those same models are still showing some potentially interesting developments around Mon-Tuesday. It seems that we may get some SE windswelly stuff along the southern and mid east coast. Over the weekend, there could be a little kick up for the Gold Coast (the models are showing a broad area of weak easterly fetch drifting in).

Anyway, we shall see…

…hope they all break your way today!
