Grey, small, but not flat

Hello Friends,

Once again with the grey skies. We probably have to get to used to these given the bedding in of a la Nina. There are some little waves showing at south exposed stretches this morning, but they’re pretty badly affected by the 20-30 kts of SE wind we’re currently enjoying in Sydney.  The Bureau says that Huey plans to throttle the wind back to 13-18 kts this evening. According to the MHL Sydney buoy, it’s averaging just on 2 metres of swell, but when you add in the seas, the peaks are hitting 4 metres. The killer is the 6 second period.

Happily, the forecast models are still saying we can expect the arrival of some juicy looking (on paper anyway) east swell peaking across Thursday-Friday but looking to last into Saturday at least. The Bureau says that we’ll have 10-20 kts of ESE wind on Thursday and only 5-15 kts on Friday…. liking the look of that…
