Hello Friends,

Gloomy and cool morning with steady drizzle as Friday gets underway along the coast of Sydney.  Wind is currently out of the south at 20-25 kts. It’s set to ease back by this afternoon, but only to 15-20 kts. So it won’t be cleaning up to any noticeable extent. The MHL Sydney buoy is showing an average height of around 2 metres. The 8 sec average period energy is coming from the south.

My guess is that you won’t have much competition for waves today!

Looks as though the small, short period conditions will continue for us for some time yet. The long range picture that looked interesting yesterday for the middle of next week now is less so.  Right now the models are showing a broad area of east swell reaching about half way across the Tasman in the middle of next week, but then contracting before it reaches the east coast.

Have yourself a grand day!
