Fun little ones on tap

Little east swell gets into the joint...

Hello Friends,

Looks like some fun little waves to kick off the morning’s proceedings at most beaches with exposure to the east (er, pretty much most of them in Sydney). The average size is about a metre at sea, and the period is a uniform 8 seconds. According to the buoy data, it’s just about exactly the same as it was at dusk yesterday.

In the specific instance of Dee Why, there are a fair number of people in the water contending for waist to chest high sets. Those sets seem to be turning up pretty regularly too. So it all looks good for some fun sessions around the place. Should be roughly this size all day too.

The wind should be light offshore this morning, but it will gradually tend around to the 8-13 kts from the ESE as the afternoon approaches.

As promised, the Goat and I had a chat about surf prospects for the weekend and beyond. I put the podcast up last night and you’ll find it down the page near our current poll. Again, feedback is hugely appreciated.

Note: There would be pictures this morning… but something’s broken and our tech guru is having a well-deserved break, so I’ll have to see if I can hack something together in the meantime… If you want to see my shot from this morning, jump out to my blog (see link below my report).
