Anzac Day and a few waves to be had

Published by at 9:01 am under Surf reports

Hello Friends,

While they’re gathering at cenotaphs around the country, a few are marking the occasion in a more casual way by bobbing around in the ocean. Down at Dee Why, the conditions are looking somewhat less than appetising. The ocean is pretty junky and the swell is roughly where we left it yesterday afternoon. It’s out of the SE at around 2 metres and 8 seconds apart. Results where Dee Why is concerned are mostly waist high with the odd shoulder high set getting in. But the quality, thanks to the 15-20kts of SSE wind, is pretty ordinary.

The Bureau says the wind will decrease as the day goes along. Happily, the swell should stay at about the current levels for another day or so. And tomorrow we should, after two grey and rainy weeks, finally have a sunny day. Through in W/NW winds and conditions could be quite a bit more inviting than they are now.

One last call out for your injury stories! I’ll start having a look at them around midday with a view to publishing them this afternoon. It’d be great to have your contribution too…

Go well with your day!
