The gloom is back, but waves still

Published by at 10:09 am under Surf reports

Hello friends,

Bit drippy, rather grey, but the good news is that we still have some swell about the place. The settings are still about the same as they were when the curtain came down yesterday, ie, swell is SSE at 2 metres out at sea and the good thing is the period is around the 9 second mark. Plus there seems to be some 14 second stuff showing on the MHL data for Sydney.

Dee Why’s pretty busy again this morning, and the surface conditions are not too pretty, but there are some head high plus sets in the mix, so folk are having a fun time.

I checked out the Snowy McAlister comp yesterday and shot a little video of the old mals (see link in news). Conditions were pretty clean too. The wind was lightly offshore, which helped. This morning it’s WSW to start, so they should be seeing pretty similar quality again. Should be fun and with the grey skies, finding a park probably will be even easier than it was yesterday. I’m hoping the cloud will break up enough for some decent light so I can shoot a bit more.

The Bureau says cloudy and occasional showers for Sydney, so the water quality won’t be improving. Keep it in mind…

Hope you’re having a top old weekend and that all is going well!
